How does moving internationally with TAXIBOX work?
Moving internationally with TAXIBOX works much like our local moves. We’ll bring the TAXIBOX to your door, you can pack at your own pace, and we’ll collect it for delivery to your new home – no matter where in the world that is!
Once everything is packed and ready, along with your inventory list and necessary entry forms, we’ll take care of all the paperwork before shipping your belongings overseas. If you choose our door-to-door service, we’ll assist with customs paperwork, clearance, and delivery upon arrival in your new country. It’s easy and hassle-free!
Why do I need to prepare an inventory list?
You’ll need a detailed inventory list for your international move to declare your items for customs clearance. The list should include your full name, TAXIBOX unit numbers, and both your origin and destination addresses. Don’t worry though, we’ll give you step-by-step guidelines when you book with us!
How do I know how many TAXIBOXES I'll need for my international move?
As a general rule, one TAXIBOX is usually enough for every 1-1.5 rooms’ worth of belongings. To get a more accurate estimate, check out our handy Storage Calculator.
What is the estimate shipping timeframe at my destination?
For shipping to your destination (UK), the estimated timeframe is typically 10-15 weeks. Once you complete the form below, we can give you a more precise estimate.
Are there any items I can't pack in my TAXIBOX for an international move?
The following items are prohibited by customs laws and must not be packed in your TAXIBOX. Including these items could lead to delays, fines, penalties, or confiscation:
- Unlicensed drugs
- Offensive weapons
- Indecent or obscene material involving children
- Pornographic material
- Counterfeit or pirated goods
- Milk products from outside the EU
- Perishable food, or items that contain meat, fish, or dairy; only non-perishable food in household quantities is allowed
- Firearms, explosives, ammunition, and radio transmitters (licenses are typically required)
- Rough diamonds
- Animals (alive or dead), including parts from protected species like fur, ivory, reptile leather, and stony corals.
How should I prepare my belongings for transit?

What customs documentation is required if I'm moving from Australia to the UK?
If you’re a returning UK citizen, you’ll need a scanned copy of your passport’s photo page (with your full signature visible) and a completed customs form upon arrival. If you’re relocating to the UK on a visa, a scanned copy of your visa will also be required. Don’t worry, we’ll guide you through the entire process!
