Moving internationally with TAXIBOX is just as easy as a local move. We’ll deliver your TAXIBOX to your door, you can pack it at your own pace, and then we’ll collect it and ship it to your new address—even if it’s across the globe.
Once your TAXIBOX is packed, along with a detailed inventory list and any required entry forms, our team will handle all the necessary documentation to ensure your items are shipped smoothly. If you select door-to-door services, we’ll also assist with customs clearance and delivery once your belongings arrive in your new country.
Why do I need to prepare an inventory list?
An inventory list is required for customs clearance when moving internationally. This list must include your full name, TAXIBOX unit numbers, and both your origin and destination addresses. Don’t worry, we’ll provide you with all the guidelines when you book your move with us.
How do I know how many TAXIBOXES I'll need for my international move?
Typically, one TAXIBOX will hold the contents of 1-1.5 rooms. To get a more accurate idea of how many TAXIBOXES you’ll need, use our Storage Calculator
What is the estimate shipping timeframe at my destination?
Shipping to New Zealand generally takes around 10-15 weeks. Once you fill out the form below, we can provide a more accurate timeframe for your specific move.
Are there any items I can't pack in my TAXIBOX for an international move?
Yes, certain items are prohibited by New Zealand customs and cannot be packed in your TAXIBOX. Including these items may lead to delays, fines, or confiscation:
- Narcotics (drugs) or incitements
- Pornographic material
- Certain weapons (e.g., flick knives, swordsticks, knuckle-dusters)
- Endangered species products (e.g., ivory, turtle, tortoise)
- Meat, honey, eggs, dairy products, and popcorn
- Tobacco products
- Mothball products containing naphthalene, camphor, or dichlorobenzene
How should I prepare my belongings for transit?
Using the correct packing materials is key to protecting your belongings during the move. We can deliver packing supplies to you, whether or not you’ve received your TAXIBOX yet. Be sure to follow our packing guide, and each TAXIBOX comes with a quick guide to help you as well.
What customs documentation is required if I'm moving from Australia to New Zealand?
- A New Zealand or Australian passport
- A current New Zealand residence visa, returning residence visa, or residence permit
- A current permanent residence visa issued by the Australian government
- A current New Zealand work visa or permit (issued for at least 12 months)
- A current New Zealand visa/permit under the work to residence policy or long-term business visa/permit
- A current New Zealand visitor’s visa/permit issued for a minimum of three years
